Sensory memory involves the type of memory storage that is brief which follows up immediately an initial stimulation of a receptor. The echoic memory is also called Precategorical Acoustic Store (PAS). It is usually a brief sensory memory for auditory stimuli that lasts for a few seconds after a stimulus is extinguished. Echoic memory doesn't last for long as it fades once the stimulus is extinguished.
